Clarence B. “Curly” Cunningham, Jr. of Weirton, an amazing husband, father, and grandfather passed away on Friday August 26, 2022. He was 68 years old.

Clarence was born in Weirton, WV on August 22, 1954, the only son born to Clarence B. and Ruth M. Venner Cunningham, Sr.

Curly was a hard worker. He looked forward and did not mind working overtime. After 46 years of service as a mill wright and pipefitter, he retired from Weirton Steel/Arcelor Mittal in May of 2020. This gave him more time to work his garden which was his passion. He was known for his green thumb.

In his free time, he enjoyed studying astronomy and was fascinated by stars and universe. His thirst for knowledge had him watching you-tube videos on various topics including making things from metal. In his younger days he loved to hunt, fish and bowl.

Clarence will always be remembered as the guy who always knew the answer. His patience, wisdom and his meticulous nature made him a great teacher and role model to his grandchildren. Even though he battled many health issues, he was constantly optimistic.

He served his community as a member of the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his parents, Curly was preceded by his loving wife, Debra Kay Hearn Cunningham and her daughter, Erin Faulkner.

He will be remembered with love by his son, Christopher Cunningham (Becky); his stepdaughter, Kelly Dilullo (Mark) his two grandchildren, Markelle and Mark “Bud” Dilullo; and his sisters, Judy Pavel (Ted), Jeannie Silveri (Tom) and Penny Wright (Doug).

Curly will be cremated with no public services.
